On Saturday 7th March 14 people attended a fruit tree pruning session. There was a short talk and demonstration from Gen, a Wirral Tree Warden (see http://www.wirraltreewardens.co.uk/). This covered pruning of trees to encourage fruit production according to the condition and age of the trees, and was followed by a chance to practice pruning on apple and pear trees. The afternoon wound up with sampling of home-made cider, apple chutney and apple cake.
