On Sunday 9th November Ted Tuddenham, mycologist led a group on a fungus foray on Newton Common, Stapledon Woods and Caldy Hill. As well as an enjoyable walk and picnic in beatiful woodland, with sunny views over West Kirby, the group discovered a huge treasure trove of fungi in the area - 44 different varieties, six of which were edible.
The picture is of a Birch Bracket Fungus on Caldy Hill (inedible).
