Transition Town West Kirby update

Welcome to the latest news and events from TTWK.

Change of venue for our banner making event tomorrow, September 14

Come and help TTWK make its very own banner from recycled materials. Help spread the Transition message, add a touch of colour to all our events and (if you can’t already) learn to sew. Please note that the venue for this event has changed. It will now take place at the URC hall on Meols Drive tomorrow September 14 at 7.30pm. We have also had to change the time and venue for our forthcoming AGM. Details will be provided in the next update.

 TTWK film screening: Gasland

Our next film screening takes place on Friday, October 21. The venue is the URC Church Hall on Meols Drive. Screening time will be 7.30pm with admission by donation.

This is a highly topical screening of Gasland, the widely acclaimed investigation into the impacts of shale gas or “fracking”. You can get more details about the film here.

 Next Hoylake local food fair
The hugely popular local food fair at the Hoylake Community Centre returns on Sunday, October 30. The fair runs from 10am-2pm

 ....and finally
Any parents or teachers out there may be interested in “The Oil Game”. This is a hugely effective tool to engage young children, teaching them about our dependence on oil and how we can build a more resilient community.

Full details and a downloadable workbook are available via the Transition Culture blog.

Yours in Transition
