Welcome to the March update. Details below of the upcoming Transition party, a creative health walk to Hilbre plus what our working groups are up to as well as news about the national Transition conference.
The Joys of Spring – Celebrating Transition – event is on Saturday March 21st. The venue is St. Andrews Hall on Graham Road West Kirby. There will be live music and a bar and you are invited to bring food to share. The fun starts at 8pm but come earlier if you can help with the decorations. Our rather lovely poster to promote the event is now available. Admission free, donations welcome.
Before that on Wednesday March 18th we have a creative health walk to Hilbre. This is in association with Crass Roots and the Ark project for the homeless. Meet at the Dee Lane notice board at 10:30am with a return scheduled for 2pm. We are grateful to Your Wirral for funding this event.
Our food group recently organised a very successful tree pruning workshop. The group meets regularly and is pursuing many ways to promote local food production. If you want to get involved please email ttwk.food@gmail.com.
The energy group is planning a public event around renewable energy and greening the home. There will be speakers on wood burning stoves, solar energy and home insulation. This event is scheduled for late April and there will be further details in our next update and on our websites.
The yellow group promotes Transition in health, wellbeing, spirituality and the arts. The next meeting is March 18th.
National Transition Conference 2009 - 22nd to 24th May in London The dates for this have just been announced - more info here but if you want to attend hurry up as spaces are limited and filling fast.
