Transition Town West Kirby update for October

Friday 19th Oct (and every Friday this term) 1-3pm

The West Kirby Firestation Community Cycle Hub
For men and women alike, offering opportunities and access to a wide
range of cycling activities including more confidence on the road,
maintenance guidance, first time riders access to guided rides and
mountain biking, triathlon, road racing etc. Drop in and sign up -
most of the activities are free.
Come along for a chat, check it out for yourself then
chat/tweet/facebook to your friends and spread the word.

Join us for a wild mushroom safari on the slopes and in the woods of
West Kirby. Find out what's edible and what's not.  It will be fun and
educational, making for an enjoyable experience for all the family.

A celebration of local food, with local producers selling what they
produce, and cookery demos from Julian, of Julian's Restaurant, using
seasonal local food

Travelling Light
West Kirby's Annual Lantern Parade celebrates peace, reconciliation
and sharing by combining a St Martin's Day tradition from Germany and
Armistice Day. A great family event - everyone welcome - bring
lanterns or torches. Meet at Coronation Gardens at 5.30pm.


West Kirby Farmers' Market
Saturday 24th November 9 - 1pm
A community-run market, supporting local small producers - an
opportunity to buy food of guaranteed local provenance.  For more

We would love to hear from local volunteers (especially certified
First-Aiders) who can support the market by going on a helpers rota.
